Variables
Western Grebe
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with more than 5%
of their area as lakes/reservoirs. Where no lakes/reservoirs, it occurred
mainly in hexagons with little or no ponderosa pine - juniper forest.
The logistic regression analysis showed positive or negative
association with lakes/reservoirs, wetlands and wet shrubland,
elevation (hex. avg.), April precipitation (hex. min.), topographic
variation, and-to a lesser degree-the extent of public land.
